APRILE

Front-end engineer + freelance web designer

Michelle Aprile creates thoughtful front-end experiences and soft, editorial websites.

Based in London, I work across product interfaces and freelance sites with calm structure, visual sensitivity, and a strong eye for detail.

Work

Things I've designed, built, and shipped.

Two live projects — one image-led and editorial, one structured and bilingual. Together they show what I can actually do.

Featured project ✦Live · Bergamo, Italy

Valentina

photographer

A portfolio for Italian photographer Valentina Cometti, where the design had one job: stay out of the way of the photographs.

THE IDEA

Valentina needed a portfolio where her photography could breathe. No competing UI, no heavy navigation — just images, light, and a little poetry. The site covers six service categories while keeping the same editorial warmth throughout, and loads large photography files fast through Vercel's image CDN.

30+ product pages powered by slug-based dynamic routing, English + Spanish throughout, and a private admin payment portal built on Nitro server routes.

About me

Hi, I'm
Michelle.

Michelle
London via Italy ☀️

a bit about me

I'm originally from Italy and recently moved to London.

I've always been a pretty happy person. I love sunshine, the sea, travelling, colourful things, fashion and making things.

My friends say I'm a little ray of sunshine ☀️

I started coding in high school because I wanted to make games.

That didn't quite work out, so I started making websites instead. Got my first job straight after graduating and spent a few years building corporate web apps.

But somewhere along the way I became obsessed with the little things too.

how I work

I still love the coding part.

Now I spend a lot of my time making my own projects, learning new things and figuring out what I want to build next.
